The Club Era (1990s – Mid 2000s) During his initial career phase, DJ Bibi dominated the South African nightclub circuit, performing at over 100 prestigious venues including Funky Town, Hot Stuff, Tela Rock, Toves, 7tease Fever, Bump Nightclub, Studio 88, Night Shift Party House, Retro, Alcazar, and Tempos. His reputation extended nationwide through his legendary performances at Bourbon Street venues across the country, cementing his status as one of South Africa’s most sought-after DJs.

Simultaneously, DJ Bibi established himself as one of the top corporate events DJs in the 2000s, bringing his professional expertise and musical versatility to high-profile business functions and exclusive private events. His influence wasn’t limited to local shores – DJ Bibi took his signature sound international, performing guest spots around the world and representing South African electronic music on the global stage. After an illustrious first chapter spanning over 15 years, he retired from regular performance in the mid-2000s.

The Renaissance (2019 – Present) The COVID-19 pandemic of 2019 reignited DJ Bibi’s passion for music, marking the beginning of his triumphant return to the decks. This new chapter has seen him grace major platforms and events, including a performance at the Google Dolls concert when they visited South Africa, appearances at major rugby festivals, and performances at significant sporting events and festivals throughout the country. He remains available for corporate events, bringing decades of professional experience to exclusive functions.

Musical Style & Philosophy DJ Bibi’s musical palette spans an impressive range of genres: Afrohouse, Disco House, Funky House, Latino beats, AmaPiano, Rock, and other weird and wonderful genres, complemented by nostalgic journeys through 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s commercial dance, EDM, and what he lovingly calls “cheesy dance.” His signature approach – “old songs with new baselines and beats” – creates a unique sonic experience that bridges generations of music lovers.
